Terms of use

Last updated: 13 September 2026. These terms apply to the website at lecture.studio and to the Lecture Studio app for Mac. By using either you agree to them. They are written in plain language on purpose; if something is unclear, ask.

The software

Lecture Studio is free and open source, published under the MIT License. That license governs your use of the software, including the permission to use, copy, modify and redistribute it, and its disclaimer of warranty. The app is in beta: features change between versions, and a release may contain mistakes. Keep your lecture folder in git, as the app encourages, so any change can be undone.

No warranty, limited liability

The site and the software are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Ekrem Çetinkaya is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the site or the software, including lost work, lost data or a lecture that did not go to plan. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your content

Your decks, notes, sources and everything the assistant writes for you belong to you. You are responsible for having the right to use the materials you attach as sources, for checking what the assistant produces before you present it, and for the way you use the output. The assistant can be wrong; citations and claims should be checked against the sources.

Third-party services

The writing assistant requires an Oberik account and project, which you create and pay for (if a paid plan applies) directly with Oberik. Oberik's terms, pricing and privacy policy apply to that account and to the model providers you enable there. Downloads are served by GitHub under GitHub's terms. This site has no control over those services and is not responsible for them.

The site

The guides and documentation on this site are general information for instructors and speakers. They may be incomplete or out of date, and they are not professional advice. Text on this site may be quoted with attribution and a link. Screenshots of the app may be reused for the purpose of describing it. Marp is a project of the Marp team; macOS and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc.; other names belong to their owners.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change; the date at the top says when. Continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Questions go to ekrcet@gmail.com.
