Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026. This page covers the website at lecture.studio and the Lecture Studio app for Mac. The short version: the site sets no cookies and has no accounts or forms, its analytics are cookieless and aggregate, and the app keeps your files on your Mac and talks only to the Oberik project you own.

Who is responsible

Lecture Studio and this site are made and run by Ekrem Çetinkaya, an individual, not a company. For anything about your data write to ekrcet@gmail.com. The contact page has the other ways to reach me.

The website

• No cookies, no accounts, no forms. The site is static pages. It does not set cookies, does not ask you to sign up, and has no forms that send anything to a server. Fonts and stylesheets are served from this domain; the only third-party script is Cloudflare's analytics beacon, described below.
• Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address, the page requested and the browser's user agent, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. I do not receive that data in identifiable form.
• Analytics. Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no fingerprinting. What I see is aggregate: how many visits a page had, from which country, which browser, and where visitors came from. Nothing is tied to you as a person.
• Downloads. The download button forwards to GitHub Releases, where the app is published. GitHub then handles the request under its privacy statement.
• Links to other sites (Oberik, GitHub, Marp and others) lead to services with their own policies.
• Email. If you write to me, I keep the message and your address for as long as it takes to reply and follow up, and I do not add you to any list.

The app

• Your files stay on your Mac. Lecture Studio works on a folder you choose. Decks, notes, sources and settings are plain files in that folder; the app creates no account and sends nothing about you to me. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting and no update check.
• The writing assistant runs on Oberik, under your own project. When you send a message, the app sends that message, the context it names (the open file, the unit) and any sources you attached to the Oberik project whose key you entered in Settings. Oberik and the model providers you enabled there process that content under Oberik's terms and privacy policy and the providers' own. The app never routes your content through this site or through me.
• The project key is stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac.
• Git. If you connect a git remote, push and pull go to that remote and nowhere else.

Your rights

Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698) and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask what personal data I hold about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In practice the only personal data I hold is email correspondence; write to ekrcet@gmail.com and I will answer within 30 days.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are noted on the GitHub repository as well.
